| Welcome
to the official website for the Village of Anna, Ohio.
Anna is a family oriented community located in Shelby County along the I-75 corridor.
The village has a population of approximately 1,600 people. The Village of Anna was originally laid out by John W. Carey in 1858. First known as Carey’s Station, the name was changed to Anna in honor of John Carey’s daughter. The village was incorporated in 1878.
Anna is probably best known for its excellent school system. The high school and middle school, located close to the center of the village are complimented by a state of the art elementary school in the north end of town. The K thru 5 school was built in 1993.
There are 4 churches located in the Anna community. The Anna St. Jacobs Lutheran and the Anna United Methodist churches are located within the village. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church is located in nearby McCartyville and the Immanuel United Church of Christ is in Kettlersville. Both of these towns are in the Anna School District.
Today, Anna is still a rural community even though the Honda Engine Plant, employing approximately 2,500, is within 2 miles of the village corporation. The residents are extremely proud of their church and school oriented community.
Sincerely,
Robert S. Anderson
Mayor
